The city is always intriguing and mysterious. To me it’s also like a theme park for living in. I enjoy thinking of ideas to make it look very fun and futuristic. It’s all thanks to my early days overdosing on futuristic imagery and movies – especially Blade Runner and Brazil.

Had the privilege to participate in IDOLISM and to work on some pieces to fill a big wall at Curious Teepee with Miun/ Noreen Loh (http://miun.sg/).

We set some base ideas and develop our own directions from there:

1. Same material to work on unprimed cotton or Calico

2. The theme is to draw inspiration from Iconic perfume bottles we love

3. Size of the art work is approx 1.2 m by 1.4 m

My concept –  Scent is just another form of “flight” packed, given a “shape” , a fashionably iconic bottle – so you know what you worship. ( material Acrylic on Calico )

This is my new game illustration for Tangs Christmas Hunt. Had the opportunity to work on another game with Kevin of Spoon for Tangs. Basically the brief is pretty open- make it Christmassy and it should look really busy visually. We explored some direction before settling on an Alice in Wonderland inspired fantasy city.

I am one of those mad people that love challenges like this. Had a real good time doing this illustration even though the timing was shorter than I would have preferred.

Here are some illustrations extending the same vibe as the Tang’s anniversary stuff I did in 2002. It’s for the upcoming exhibiton in Japan – “Shiok! A Gastronomy of Singapore Design” by Black Design.

The images are of some of my favourite Nonya kuehs with some crazy colourful settings based on my childhood memories.

I don’t use a colour wheel – I just paint by feel and mood.
